I’m going to place the order for the above 3 piece MagCode set in a few days. Let me know if anyone else is interested here in the US and we can split the shipping cost.

It’s $55 plus $50 shipping. Insane... I know. But it only goes up another $8 for each additional set.

Save yourself the shipping cost and just buy this one for $73: 24v 3 Piece Magcode Set POWER Magnetic Connector POWER CLIP PORT & COVER 24 Volt | eBay

I bought from that same seller 2 years ago for $65.

Oh wow. Not sure how I missed that. I guess it was listed as 24v but shows 12v on the pics. Even if I get the 24v version, I’m sure it’s not a big deal, right?

Also, for those of you who got the CTEK 5.0 charger. Does it have enough wiring to get to the front of the car or will I need to buy an extension. Any wires to recommend if needed?

Don't know if the voltage on it matters, since I assume that in the end, it's limited by the charger anyway. Maybe someone else can chime in on that. I received one that has 12v printed on the piece.

I got this extension: https://smile.amazon.com/CTEK-56-30...dp/B00ADIHUVG/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ctek+extension&qid=1612913022&sr=8-3

I don't remember if the wire by default is long enough for the front, but getting the extension is still a good idea because you can just cut the extension cord instead of the cable on the ctek directly, so if you ever need to reverse or something, your charger is still fully intact.

Thanks for the advice. I got a response from the eBay seller and he did recommend getting the 12V unit if using for a car battery. He listed the following item that I ended up buying.

Did mine today - I'm familiar with these magcode connectors as I have one on my TVR.

Mines a UK car so used the lower plastic cover than sits in front of the towing eye. Crap pictures I'm sorry, but to give you an idea.

Remove front and left side (facing car from front) plastic panels under the frunk. A simple few large screws. Takes minutes.

Loosen plastic panel behind frunk Just loosen the left side of it - I just pulled mine - this allows the partial removal of the rubber frunk seal - which allows access to run a wire from the battery to the Magcode connector. Remove the frunk rubber seal on the left side - only needs to peel half way across the top, and 1/4 way along the bottom.

I poked a draw wire to the right of the towing eye (I'm assuming it's a towing eye!) and up. It appeared up the right side of the headlight.

I used some twin core 25amp thinwall cable. Connected to battery, and fused. Poked out of rear left of battery area and reached down and pulled it round the back and side of the frunk and to above the headlight. Attached to draw wire and pulled down through the side of the towing eye.

I left a good 1ft of slack cable, then cut and attached spade terminals. This allows the female connector to be removed if you need to use the towing eye one day!

I hot glued the spade connectors in place to stop them vibrating loose. I had to remove the little thin plastic securing strand from the plastic blanking plate back, and then , I cut the plastic away where the hole is that it used to go through. This allows the magcode connector to fit in at the rear. You can see on one of my photos where I cut it.

I also had to bend the spade connectors to the right to allow it to fit in. Oh, and when I mounted the connector I had to cut the plastic webbing away to allow it to sit flush on the blanking plate. Easy to do with a stanley blade.

I then pushed it in place, and then hot glued it at the sides.

Haven't searched for price, but you'd basically need this MagCode magnetic waterproof charging connector set plug socket and cap 12V DC | eBay

And a CTEK charger + extension cable. Connectors (not in stock, picture for reference) 14-16 AWG: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FFCVGBE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As for steps, best I can remember, but it's pretty straight forward. Attach the ctek connector to the battery, attach one side of extension, strip off the wire from extension, attach to magcode based on +/-. Drill out washer blank, install the magcode receptor into it. Other side is just your ctek charger + other half of the extension, strip off the wires on the extension and attach the charging head. Overall, very simple to do and the hardest part is drilling the washer blank. Worst case scenario, you buy more of them at around 60 a pop until you get it right. I used and stripped the CTEK extension which I purchased separately for like $15 so that if I ever want to use the CTEK normally, you can by just disconnecting the extension.

I installed the MagCode receptacle in the right front bumper in a removable cover. It just drilled/filed a big hole in the removable cover. I then ran 2 wires from the MagCode receptacle to the battery, and put a fuse in the positive lead near battery.

I removed the frunk trim panels and it was pretty straightforward to access everything. Instructions are in the battery replacement thread.

Loved the way this added the smallest bit of security against a dead battery. I am lucky enough where it doesnt really sit all that long but when I need it to now I have an easy way of keeping the charge to it. Thanks for the great suggestions!

No need to go to the extent I did taking things apart but I was doing other things too and this made it much easier :)

Thanks to this thread and it's contributors (Special thanks to @CharleyH ), I am attempting this mod as we speak...
But it looks like I messed up the hole in the plastic end cap, I started with a 1" hole which was too small, so I tried to go up to 1 1/8" but it got away from me a bit and the hole is too close to one edge of the end cap, hope it holds and snap off there....
