Hi

Another measure is to reduce weight, the conversion to R8 GT without gearbox oil cooler.
All that is required is a short-circuit oil line from the GT ( 420.317.818.G ), everything else is disposed of.

-5 kg or -11 ibs

Hi Tom, I’m going to remove the oil cooler, the cooler and lines obviously hold oil in them, so when removed the pipework and cooler how do I know the correct amount of oil is in the gearbox ? Is there an overflow bolt on the gearbox, fill up intil oil overflows out of the bolt hole.

Hi

The amount of oil missing by removing the oil cooler is 0.5 L.
The GT has 3L in the gearbox, the normal R8 3.5L.
You don't need to fill up.

Unless there is too little in it.

As in the picture, everything has to be dismantled.

Hi

The AKF tank is located on the right under the engine control unit.
The secondary air valve is located under the intake manifold.

Yes, that's right and I've been dealing with it for years and so has ETKA.
The arrangement of the parts in the picture corresponds to the arrangement in the vehicle and for me this is easily recognizable, not for a newcomer.

Hi

Here you can see the thickness of the damping of the rear wall. This is heavy foam. This can be disposed of and does not cost any money and can be installed if necessary.

Do you often modify the audi? To reduce the weight, you can use carbon fiber parts or fiberglass parts for external modification. I have bought both, but I think carbon fiber is better
