Dear r8talkers,

I am just on the verge of signing the final qoutation of my 09' 4.2 R8 order. I went for Sepang blue exterior with carbon fiber sideblades and anthracite wheels. As for the interior Im left confused between choosing crimson red or cognac alcantra (personal interest).

Anyone cares to provide any opinions about what interior colour would best suit the Sepang blue exterior? Stitching?

P.S. I went for the carbon fiber inlays as well.

do you think cognac with blue stitching would be too much?
I have cognac throughout with alcantara and its magnificent. Blue stitching might be a stretch. Stitching or piping? I could take a photo of a blue fabric (a t-shirt or something) on my seats for you. It won't be Sepang. Or, even better, I can print a page in blue with the color laser and cut it into strips and lay it on the seats as if were in there.

thnx russman, not piping. I wanted to see if anyone agrees if blue stitching on seats and dashboard, steering, etc on cognac would look good (matching the sepang exterior). What do you think? It would be really helpful if you can manage to get a photo of ur interior with somethin similar to sepang next to it.

Attached, see the cognac with a strip of blue that is somewhat similar to the sepang. Its not a great picture but its about the closest you may come.... sorry about the shadow. Its definitely unique and interesting. My wife thinks it would look sharp and I tend to agree. If you were to do that, I would consider having the floor mats piped in sepang blue as well. Just a thought

Look at the R8 in the following thread, it has CF front lip, rear diffuser and side mirrors which are all aftermarker goodies. Not so sure about the side mirrors, i think its too much. But the front lip and rear diffuser look stunning.

As for manufacturers try thses:

Since you live in NY try the US based ones.

And if you're really into this stuff ill show you something more intresting:

Look at the trim sets.

I think CF would look amazing on Suzuka grey.

Having thorough destroyed my front diffuser, there is no way in hell I'd put a CF one on. That's like wanting expensive materials on the bottom of your shoe heh.

LOL. U got that right! We need cheap, good, easy to replace fiberglass front spoilers.

Liverpoolish, I love deviating stitching interiors. But I would use it with only black or dark brown. The blue stitching would look great with either.

Here's a Porsche In black with red stitching. Drk brown leather with blue stitching would look great.

Nice pics Bodhi! Great combinations. But again I like bright interior better. Like the cognac on russman's R8. It tends to show the other side of ur car from an outside view. I think dark brown would look really good as well. But i just cant ignore the cognac ;). You might actually think it cant match, but you cant really judge unless you see it, my guessing it would look good. I just saw a papaya orange R8 with dark brown interior fresh in our local dealership last week, LOOKS AMAZING. But i bet he'll get bored of the colour within a month :p

Well point well made. But you cant ignore the way it looks with extra CF bits. If you're using the car on a daily basis my advice dont even bother, but if its a weekend toy i'd say go for it. Especially with a light colour exterior.
