How does this mount to the non plus gen 2? Does the active spoiler need to be deactivated?

You'll need to convert the deck pieces to the R8 V10 plus pieces and then code out the electronic spoiler function. There are guides on this site that explain how.

No need to sell- I just leave info that "code out" isn't best solution like you state and can generate problems on track.
There is no solution to code out RWD, RWS wing via VCDS double coding completely.

No where in my reply did I say anything about it being the best solution. I have taken my Gen2.5 over 150 (well over) many times and have never gotten a single ESP fault. But sure, he can leave his wing motor plugged in sure... whichever method he chooses.
