It will prolly have somewhere about 630 hp and 440 lb-ft - like the STO ...
Osman is right, in fact these parts bits have been used before, it'll be the tune that makes it 'special' but not nearly the SPECIAL, the original GT was. I sure hope they DON'T reuse that name - better to call it the R8 SE for Strasse Evo imho ... or R8 SLMS for Strasse LeMans Series. Herr Dr. Reinke : Haben Sie mich gehört?

What else makes the gen 1 GT so special? Thinner windshield, polycarbonate windows, carbon fiber engine bay, a light tune on the engine bringing it to 560 HP, bucket seats, and a limited run?

...if Audi did that once, I don't see why they can't do it again but in a faster platform. Especially with the sibling Performante and STO models already out there. If they choose not to (for whatever reason), then that will be a disappointment.

Pretty special car when you look at that list. Crazy they don’t command much of a premium or at least they didn’t until now.

Definitely separates itself from the other gen 1 R8's.

I couldn't care less about the small cosmetic things like white gauge faces, floor mats or mirror caps but the performance stuff on it are certainly very cool.

I just hope this upcoming track oriented version matches rival GT3's, Performantes, 570S's and AMG GTR's performance on the track.

I very nearly went for a GT but was put off by the gearbox, could that be why the prices aren’t astronomical?
I notice the LMX models with the stronic are a price step up again so maybe that theory holds some water.
I’m sure I watched a video where Ricky is doing a GT manual conversion, now that would be something although it will be interesting to see what that does to the cars value.

Yep probably. I think the R-Tronic holds it back. One lmx on the market at the mo for £95k. All GT's are about 75K. Oddly while prices for all other models have risen by about 5k the GT is still around 75k which is what it was before prices went up.
