A lovely evening event & most memorable. Having only recently got the beast back on the road, incl doing a service & AC repair, It was an absolute pleasure dropping my niece at her end of school Prom. She looked wonderful & Both her & my wheels were very well received.

Congratulations on a special night. The journey of a teenage girl is not an easy one and having a father who makes it special is a real blessing. Good on you.

Very kind of you my friend. Jess is actually my niece (not my daughter) but she has certainly had a very rough time in recent years! Thankfully everything on her Prom went wonderfully well. She was absolutely made up.
Cheers

For my prom we piled several couples into an extra stretched limo, dressed to the hilt, and headed into NYC (from Long Island) where we partied the night away at Tavern on the Green in central park.

Looking back, if I had an uncle who would have offered a ride in a supercar, I would have ditched the girlfriend (she didn't last much into first year of college anyway!) and headed out to some great driving roads with the car instead! ;)

Nicely done... I'm sure you've added to this very memorable event for her!

Sadly the approach drive to the venue (Bournemouth Football Club Stadium) was all the usual evening slow flow of traffic, but it was great having a chat with her & asking about her future plans & aspirations.
I think she felt like a celebrity getting out of the car, as there were dozens of cameras flashing away. As I said previously it was a wonderful evening for her.
Thanks for your comments.

Oh we should totally turn this thread into a prom night story one. I'm a little confused because just like I'd never disrespect a man's wife, I'd never disrespect someone's daughter and dont want anyone to get offended.

But i guarantee we have some good stores from members.....

I left School in '87 & we didn't have proms back then. TBH I just wanted to get away from the **** place. Nowadays it's a really big deal for the kids. It's a huge celebration for them all. How they arrive is a large part of the fun.

I think its good for the kids. This young woman got to feel like a celebrity for a time and good about herself and at the end of the day that's a great thing.

I've also been to Quinceaneras in Mexico City and Monterrey and that is a whole different level.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell a great prom story on this thread.

Prom night my godfather lent me his new 240Z. It was quite the event pulling up to the valet parking.

I may be sick in the head, but not that sick in the head my friend. Those are kids and to be respected and nurtured. I used to date 22 and over but then started to have friends with kids that age so changed that as well. There is a line in life and mine has to do with respect and doing the right thing always. And also, relentlessly screwing with the more powerful people in life to try to get my share.

Great story and glad it all went well. I am sure your niece was a superstar rolling up in a R8. Definitely adds the memorably aspect of the event. Now just wait until all the other 'kids' of the family start having similar requests of you. Haha.

I picked up my R8 a couple of weeks ago and last weekend, my wife's cousin got married. His request was for the R8 Spyder to be the ride in which he gets chauffeured into the wedding venue and his wife's house afterwards. He loved it and so did everyone else. Also, had to give a bunch of people rides around the area to let them have a feel of the car. Bringing smiles to people's faces is what it's all about.
