provisorically scheduled for week 26... WEEK26!!??   thats somewhat exactly at end of Q2...

one of the first 100 cars in switzerland and still not earlier AND my audi dealer can't tell me more then that?

whats the reason for this thread?
well - as i am very anxious about all this - maybe we can keep this sticked to the forum with updates and news re release of the first cars in europe.. cause besides interior and exterior details, the delivery, imho, is the most important and exciting fact.. :D

so pls post any info re delivery you picked up along this torturous waiting line... :)

I've not heard anything on UK delivery times ... other than provisional dates are expected to be known by the end of March, or the first week of April ... although in months gone by it was expected that ... the first UK should be towards the end of May, or Early June ... which is when it seems Switzerland will get their first cars ... not sure if the Swiss cars were due to be before UK ... at the same sort of time ... of if the first UK cars are due for delivery before the first Swiss ones ... maybe in two or three weeks the early UK customers will be given their provisional dates.

Have you previously been given an estimated delivery time ... ... if you have I am guessing it was earlier than week 26 ...

first provisional dates from my audi dealer were april.. but we knew at that time that this might be very optimistic..

referring to Kresos statement, I was then postponing my expectations to may.. but if that will be now june.. I dont know if PS3 will help me over this pain ;)

btw - try PS3 F1, its an awesome game :D

Your dealer must be very optimistic ... I was under the impression that the first R8s for customers wouldn't arrive until the fall of 2007 ...

US delivery is, according to my dealer, October 07.
That seems to be more like the information that I seem to recall reading on the ... US Audi website in recent months regarding first cars being expected in the fall.

Would love to see you in Grobnik! It is only 170km from me...
BUT, According to my info your estimated week 26 delivery for costumer cars seems to be right...

YES. Sorry, guys...

Audi decided to make some changes on R-Tronic software... Also they made changes on monoposto apperance(upper part in Micrometalllic grey) and non of the first cars will be produced in Mugello Blue or Monetrrey Green...

First dealers cars will be ready for end of April, BUT NOT COSTUMER CARS...

Of course, there is a slim(or big) chance that some dealers will silently sell their demo R8s ASAP to some costumers, but Audi HQ will take extreme actions agains such acts... Of course, if they found out about such actions...

Audi seems to be unprepared for car like R8... At least marketing wise...

One small advise from me to all Audi dealers(and HQ)-hire Lamborghini Gallardo sales person's for at least one year period of time! This kind of deal will be less painfull then knowledge-less Audi R8 specialist's(BTW, this is pure fiction since this specialist's do not exist! We have the only here on R8talk!)...

I think you might have a point about R8 specialists ... I don't know that many (if any) dealerships have had any of their sales team go on an R8 course ... to really learn about the car in detail so they can then be called an R8 specialist ... I suspect Stuttgart will be running courses any day now ... until then I think you will have to rely on info here ... and contacting the R8 teams in your respective country ... i.e. for UK that means people like Bev Holloway.

Due to a few things I'm juggling around this year, not least of which is a brand new house due for completion in August, I'd be happy to wait until September now... so I'd rather Audi delayed things a little, gave us some more options, fitted the DIS from the RS4, allowed me to have an exclusive colour, and delivered my car in September ;)

your comment about the DIS is a wish I suppose? Not a fact you heared somewhere?

Purely wishful thinking - but if they're making changes to the interior (the monoposto, according to another thread, is having a makeover) and the gearbox software, presumably it isn't beyond the realms of possibility for them to fix simple things like that as well...

I know people think different about the DIS, but the most want a decent DIS and not the monochrome and low resolution DIS that is the same as the DIS of my old '99 S3.

How am I supposed to properly read the Nav info on that DIS? When driving on Nav I always use the DIS for guidance and that poor DIS is not helping me at all...
