Not sure what the sport exhaust option is. I know the factory exhaust is a valves system that the same on all the R8's.

 

I believe that the "Sport Exhaust System" is a new option for the MY2015 R8. But I've not run across any specific information about it.

 

Definitely new for 2015 ..just cant find any info. Surprised it is in the configurator and ,per dealer, available for orders at this time. However, specifications and features are not published..

 

It's probably just a valveless system which they up charge for lol

 

When I bought my 2012 v10 they told me that my model comes with the "sport" exhaust and apparently you can tell by the color of the exhaust tips. If they are matte black that means that you got the "sport" exhaust.
I just could not find any more info about it. I don't even know if it sounds different than the regular exhaust.

 

There was no sport exhaust as an option from Audi until model year 2015, and then only on the V-10 S-tronic

I will share the particulars soon..I am picking up my 2015 V10 Spyder on Wednesday...I do know there is a switch control ..that is all Audi NA offered as an explanation. I do know it was never before offered as even Audi NA is not familiar with the specifics other than..new exhaust setup for V10 R8 and only optional !

 

The exhaust setup is integrated into the sport mode switch..The exhaust note is "very aggressive"..the rev matches on downshifts are insane..in fact the first time caught me off guard ..compared to my McLaren mp4..this is insanely more aggressive.,.the mac is sedate by comparison (sound wise)..
I will try to get a sound bit uploaded when I have a chance for those that are interested..I am very happy I opted for the oem sport exhaust...intoxicating!

I asked my local dealer how much it would cost to install the 2015 sport exhaust in my 2014 R8. If I recall correctly it was $5250. It does sounds nice and I'm definitely tempted
