Hi all,

From the UK. Looking to buy my first r8 (mk1 version).

saw one that i liked but it seems to have been serviced every 2k miles is this normal? (Is it a good or bad thing?) it shows a service history of 12k miles, then 24k, then 36k, then 38k, 39.5k, 40.5k, 42.2k miles.

2007 r8, v8 .

i have seen others who seem to have a more consistent service every 10k miles.

sound a but worried i know but this will be my first “entry level super” car, so treading cautiously.

Irrespective of mileage. What is the time/date difference between the services?

Possibly the last owner(s) were low mileage users and they serviced on time rather than miles. Two years is the max interval between long life oil changes but if you are a low mileage / infrequent driver then annual is best.

Hi, i see i suppose that makes sense if last owner was low mileage user...

And atm i havent got as far as to ask for the time/date stamps, but based on your query im guessing it be a raised eyebrow if the time/date stamps were close together for the 38, 39, 40,42k marks? Rather than the stamps being further apart e.g 1-2year intervals?

Yes as X-UFO says you need both the date and the miles to understand the full picture. Oil changes every few months would be unusual.
