Okay, so what 'is it' exactly? A switch to make it louder during different driving mode?

Louder all of the time in all modes?

Is it louder now that V8?

Sorry, the description on order guide doesn't really say much.

 

It is actually physically different. Probably smaller baffles.
No idea on sound...have never heard it and do not know any customers that have ordered this option.

 

Sports exhausts are all the same no matter what manufacturer you buy from.
Just makes it a little louder and pop more without really any performance gains.

Money better spent on an aftermarket exhaust.

Personally, a V8 just sounds better with a fatter exhaust note than a V10. I don't mean to incite any ill feelings, but having come from many V10 Vipers that honestly just sounded like a UPS truck, V8s just have a better sound to my ears...as much as I hate to admit it. It has something to do with the balance of the engine. Having said that, I own a V10 Plus car!

Out of curiosity, do the 2014 Plus R8s have the Sports Exhaust stock?

The sport exhaust is not too impressive. Nothing like an aftermarket exhaust.

The v8 does sound better than the v10. But the v10 with an exhaust still sounds awesome. And nothing like a viper, I have to add...
