100k Miles Gen 1 Should I Be Worried?

I have a 2014 R8 and I'm about to hit 100k miles.

If I plan on keeping the car for another 5 years and getting it to 150k miles, should I be worried about any big ticket items?

I'm mainly worried about major engine problems that would require a rebuild or transmission issues. Is the dual clutch transmission a wear item, if so how long is it supposed to last? Do I need to have it flushed, or should I just keep it going?

So far major items have been the catalytic converter, and mag suspension.

This is the right answer.

I just posted in another thread about maintenance and service schedules. If the car has religiously been serviced according to schedule, there's likely little cause for concern. But, at 100k miles, the transmission fluid (since you've asked) should have been flushed MULTIPLE times by now. If it hasn't, then sure, I'd be concerned about 100k miles on a DCT that's been essentially neglected.

Its a question I think about as well. I'm not sure its a good idea to own a decade old supercar with 100k miles unless you know how to do the work yourself. My warranty ends at 108k miles and I'm just shy of 100k now. While I'd love to keep the car, I dont think its a great idea. A 2014 with 100k miles isnt worth much money, so its more about enjoying the car. I'm not sure I'd feel great spending $40k on a new engine for a car that would sell for 45k with a working engine.

But, my guess is its going to last to 150k miles.

Another factor is whether you've driving the car the way it's meant to be driven, or whether it's wasted its life away being babied at 2500 RPM well below the speed limit like a typical Corvette owned by an 83 year old named Bob

If you're babying it, then who cares if it lasts 200k miles. It's a lame existence for a supercar, take it out of its misery!
