always have a good bronze wheel but its gonna be on the right color car. also not sure about bronze on the oem y spoke wheels

 

Car would be wrapped in a satin gray color, I don’t have the Y spokes I have the first gen 5 spoke V8 wheels.

 

Always love the Decennium colour combo, satin grey with bronze. Post some photos if you end up doing it!

 

I have done this although the wheels are Lamborghini OEM not Audi

 

How did you do the center caps? I just secured a set of Gianos and are powder coating gold. Was thinking about reusing the Lamborghini center caps.

 

To powder coat they will take off the tires, valve stem and pressure sensors. Prep the wheel. Powder coat it, bake it. Then put it all back to put it all back together. I know a one stop shop in San Diego. $150 a wheel. American Factory Wheels.

Thinking about powder coating my stock 19 inch 5 spoke wheels and wanted an idea of how it looks.

how reliable is the powder coat finish in terms of chips and cracks? i assume better than just painting, right?

is there a way to paint a wheel and then get the same machine face finish as factory?

 

Yes, it is more robust of a coating as it is thicker. It is like a thick coat of plastic when cured. And yes, you can post process to machine the face with a diamond cutter, you would just have to find a shop that offers that service.

 

I have my stock 2008 wheels powder coated in triple bronze with high gloss black barrels.

I just did my OEM wheels, the shop in my area first put them in their Dip tank and stripped them to bare metal, then powered coated them in gloss black 2 coats. I was first thinking Bronze but Brian the owner pointed out others in the lot that were gloss black, and one was a Brilliant Red, as is my 2015 V10+ and that sealed my decision. I'll post pic's when I have time. Personal preference is what matters!! Good luck!!
