Hello everyone i am new to the forum
i just bought a 2008 v8 r8 with 4000 miles on her today.
Love the car just i want to change the exhaust system asap
I am looking for a really loud valve exhaust ... higher pitch more f1 sounding is what I'm really looking for
my friend has a 05 gallardo with a LOC exhaust and at high revs sounds amazing
i can't seem to find a exhaust for the r8 that goes to such a high pitch.

I searched the forums back and fourth and watched countless amount of YouTube clips and i narrowed down to 3 choices at the moment
in order:
- Armytrix
- IPE
- Capristo

I know many of you have these exhaust on your cars and these exhaust all seem great. but does anyone have a video clip of r8s next to each other with the different exhaust to really compare the sounds?

last but least can anyone recommend a shop online that sells these exhaust at a good price? seems everyone sells for full retail...never saw that before
again thank you everyone in advance and i look forward to your replays ... hopefully soon i can be happy revving with all of ya haha

I just ordered a Kline Valved system and had pretty much the same criteria as you mention, for quality and sound I would recommend the following also based on my research and IMO obviously.

Akrapovik
Armytrix
Stasis
Capristo

It's pretty difficult to find video's comparing different brands, some exhaust vendors don't even have good videos of their own exhausts TBH

..For better pricing than RRP then talk with sellers directly I guess

master thank you as well for the quick reply....
i think I'm leaning towards the armytrix but with that list I'm sure i would be happy with any of those exhaust
now it comes down to price haha

You can't find an exhaust with a high pitch for this car because it doesn't exist. The reason your Lamborghini 04-08 sound that way is because of the way it's set up inside. That car is a even firing engine, this Audi is odd fire.

There is more to just switching exhaust to make a car sound a certain way. A cars exhaust tone is also based on the engine itself. Why does a Corvette v8 sound like a muscle car but a Ferrari v8 430/458 sound high pitch? Well the Ferrari is an even fire engine just like the older Lambos.

The 2009+ gallardos switched to odd fire just like the v10 r8 started with. I don't see why companies don't explain this to the customer. :)

What you pay for is mostly marketing such as fancy pics, etc. Doesn't necessarily equal quality in all cases.

This is completely true. With an odd firing engine you're not going to be able to change the V8 rumble so much. See this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbbNlkP-ZSM 1:30 in.

That being said a lot of these exhausts will add a little higher pitch, though not really change the sound characteristics in general. I like my Armytrix. Does sound a little tinny from the titanium but adds to a higher pitch at higher revs. Still low and rumbly in idle.

Welcome to the forum! There is a lot of useful info around here which will lead to the right exhaust.

We are running special deals for members of the forum. Just released our GT video, its a V10 but the V8 will not dissapoint! Our exhaust carries our uniquie design which is as high pitched as it gets with valves open. The first Gallardo model has the potential of an even more incredible sound because the car has detachable cat pipes. This for example how our 04-08 Gallardo exhaust sounds with decat pipes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM8UYBQbSgE

The R8 and LP Gallardo share similar exhaust design, primary cats are in the manifolds and you cannot take them out like the old model. This would involve changing the headers.

This is how our R8 GT sounds like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDDQhOaj1ss

Please feel free to PM or email me anytime for more info and pricing - Felix@kline-innovation.com

Yeah you won't quite get an "F1" sound since you have the V8 but I would highly recommend the Fabspeed system! It's beautifully built and offers the best of both worlds if you get the valved exhaust, they sound so nasty with the flaps open!

Good luck
