Rear Bumper Removal Question (Gen 2 Facelift)

I'm going by the service manual procedure for removing the rear bumper (wheel liners and undertray only opened enough to unscrew/bolt the bumper itself).

There's limited visibility so hoping someone can give me a quick tip.

1) The connector shown in the attachment is fastened to the bumper. Is this one of those plastic screws that get ruined when you pull them out? Do I just pull it away from the bumper?

2) On the second attachment they mention a retainer clip needs to be loosened near the center of the bumper. I have no idea where these are or how to loosen them. Should I just yank it out using the grill after I disengage the left and right corners?

On the connector, I believe it is one of the two hand specials where you must compress it for the o-ring and clear the detent and then depress the side tap to clear lug while pulling.
